Inspired by the hot urban gardening trend of 2017, the Ultimate Upcycle Challenge: Eat Your Veggies! is putting a fresh spin on the deep-rooted tradition of growing vegetables and herbs. Using materials provided by Rust-Oleum Consumer Brands Canada, Ottawa’s top influencers are sourcing a pre-loved furniture item from the Re-Store and turning it into a functional and trendy urban garden. Don’t miss your chance to bid on these one-of-a-kind pieces during a silent auction at the show, as all proceeds benefitting Habitat for Humanity. Your contribution will help provide local families with a safe and affordable place to live – something everyone deserves!

Master Gardeners Catherine Disley & Stephanie Sleeth


This UUC project was a joint effort between two Master Gardeners of Ottawa Carleton. Both Catherine Disley & Stephanie Sleeth are avid gardeners with formal horticultural education. As Master Gardeners they have been providing gardening advice to Ottawa area home gardeners for over 25 years combined. Catherine has a particular interest in creating container arrangements, combining interesting plants, flowers and foliage. Stephanie is interested in horticulture therapy and loves working with seniors and children. Gardening is good for the body, mind and spirit.
